LAKATOS Lucille Mae Lucille Mae (nee Forman) Lakatos, of West Toledo, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. She was born to Victor and Sylvia (Friedman) Forman in Toledo. Lucille worked at St. Lukes Hospital and then at the Roofers Local #134 until retiring. She devoted her life to her family and found great joy with her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lucille will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Andrew Lakatos and brother, Victor Forman. Lucille is survived by her sons, Gary and Larry (Linda) Lakatos; grandsons, Eric (Gisela) and Shane (Luna) Lakatos; 8 great-grandchildren, sisters, Shirley (Harlan) Failor and Bev (Charles) Clark; brothers, Richard and Edward (Louise) Forman and many other cherished family members and dear friends. At the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Funeral services will begin Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.

Gary A. Lakatos, age 70, of Toledo, Ohio passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born August 17, 1945, in Toledo to Andrew and Lucille (Forman) Lakatos. Gary was founder of Lakatos and Associates Investments and Insurance, played both football (All-City in 1962 and 1963), and baseball for Woodward High School from 1959-1963. Gary also played football for Bowling Green State University. He served with the U.S. Army Intelligence and was awarded three Bronze Stars, a Silver Star plus a Purple Heart while serving in Vietnam. Gary was inducted into the Birmingham Hall of Fame September 1997.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, and survived by his brother, Larry (Linda) Lakatos; favorite aunt, Beverly (Forman) Clark and nephews, Eric (Gisela) Lakatos, Shane (Luna) Lakatos.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.

Laverne Ruth Carlson, age 81, of North Canton, passed away Thursday August 22, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center following an extended illness. Laverne was born on November 1, 1931, in Chicago to Jesse and Ruth (Henderson) Janes. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois in Education and worked as a teacher for the Perry School District for 28 years. Laverne was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Fred, whom she married July 16, 1955; four children, Cathy of North Canton, Steven and wife Beth of Knoxville, TN, Karen and her husband Bill of Sarasota, FL, and Jon of Detroit, MI; grandchildren, Kristen, Eric, MaryBeth, Christine, Katherine, Matthew, Lisa, Brian and Bridget. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother William Janes, and her daughter-in-law Gail Majeska Carlson. A private family committal service was held at Sunset Hills Burial Park.

Dearly beloved husband for 37 years to Cynthia; loving father of Samuel and Daniel; loved and adored son of Joyce and Richard; cherished brother of Clark (Sharon); precious uncle of Courtney, Matt and Laura, died recently. After living in Israel and serving in the Israeli Defense Forces, Mr. Rose returned home to enter the family office furniture business, S. Rose Inc. in 1981 as secretary-treasurer. Utilizing his information technology degree, he computerized the accounting and sales departments. He was loved by the entire company for his wit, wisdom and integrity and respected throughout the contract furniture industry. Mr. Rose’s gift and passion was music. He was an accomplished pianist, and he wrote beautiful compositions loved by all. He and his wife were Founding Members of Tikvat Yisrael Messianic Synagogue in the late 70's; and Howard was Tikvat's first Worship Director and Leader.

Gabriella was a Hungarian Messianic Jewish Believer and a "Shaliach" to the country of Sierra Leon. She spoke many languages including Hebrew, Hungarian and English. Gabriella literally gave her life away serving the poor among the poorest people in one of the most dangerous places in the world. Tikvat Yisrael loved her very much and supported her work in Africa financially until she succumbed to Leukemia.

Graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 22 at Mount Olive Cemetery, 27855 Aurora Rd, Solon, OH 44139, with Rabbi Eric Lakatos officiating.
