Back in 2011, we were contacted by real estate agents representing Congregation Bethaynu, a local Conservative Synagogue that was going to merge with B'nei Jeshrun of Pepper Pike. The synagogue was for sale, but not the furniture and at that time buyers were hard to find. We went and looked at their invitation, (at least we'd keep it "Jewish"), unfortunately the asking price of $2MM was out of our reach at the time. We took the pictures you see above and below, not knowing why God allowed us to view the beautiful furniture and building that seemingly to us were so far out of our reach it would be a miracle to have such a place of worship. Cleveland has never had a permanent Messianic Jewish Synagogue, and Tikvat has been here since 1978 wandering the city renting from place to place. Fast forward to 2015, another synagogue was going out of business, Congregation Kol Chadash of Solon. This time they were liquidating all of their furniture. This time we explored for ourselves perhaps there was something available that we could afford for our own building someday? Lo, behold! The very same Ark that was in Bethaynu four years before was now up for sale, waiting for us. Now we could understand why the Lord would allow us to see it. We had been saving for a building and furniture for years! We were able to acquire this beautiful Aron Hakodesh (Holy Ark) to house our Torah Scrolls. Additionally, Tikvat was able to acquire other valuable furniture for our future home for pennies on the dollar. We also blessed the staff of Kol Chadash with a love offering of to help them meet their final financial obligations. Our hearts went out to them as they were loosing their congregation, and our purchase was also a blessing to them. Today all of this beautiful furniture is all packed away in storage waiting for the day when we reach the goal of acquiring a permanent Messianic Synagogue here in Cleveland! Will you help us reach our goal?
We are believing for this and we know the Lord has given us the vision for the glory of Yeshua the Messiah and for His people Israel.
